Gardasil: Fast-Tracked and Flawed by Helen Lobato
In Gardasil: Fast-Tracked and Flawed Helen Lobato argues that we do not know whether HPV vaccines will decrease the incidence of cervical cancer. What is emerging, however, is evidence of their harmful effects. In 2006, the experimental HPV vaccination program began and there have been at least 315 associated deaths and more than 50,000 adverse events following HPV vaccination. The book launch of Gardasil: Fast-Tracked and Flawed is on Friday June 9 and will be launched by women's health researcher Dr Renate Klein at the Kathleen Syme library and community centre, 251 Faraday St, Carlton, 5 PM for 5.30 PM.

12 pm – Translation and Play & Eltham Launch of Lady of the Realm. Translation is like poetry, it allows for a playful mind and a playful approach.
Dr. Susan Hawthorne, author of Cow, Lupa and Lamb will talk about the Sanskrit practice of shlesha, the ability to say multiple things at once. She will also talk about her experiments in imaginative translations that she created for her book Lupa and Lamb. Hoa Pham, author of Lady of The Realm and Wave will discuss the ramifications of having her work translated into Vietnamese in Vietnam and the loss of potential audiences if translations don’t take place because of political embargoes.
