Francesca Rendle-Short and Patricia Sykes
Glen Eira Story Telling Festival: Tongues in Flight: Unravelling Mother Stories and Convent Mysteries
In this unique event, two Spinifex authors, Francesca Rendle-Short author of Bite Your Tongue and Patricia Sykes  author of The Abbotsford Mysteries will read from their latest works and share their experiences of finding their storytelling voices through poetry and fiction, interspersed with memoir.
When: Saturday June 23rd, 2pm Glen Eira Town Hall Theatrette
 
Susan Hawthorne author of Cow, will be speaking at the International Festival of Literature in Translation —Why Translation Matters. Susan will be using Sanskrit as a model for imaginary translation.
When: 15th to 17th June

Lara Fergus author of My Sister Chaos, winner of the Publishing Triangle Edmund White Award for Debut Fiction and shortlisted for the Dobbie Encouragement Award and the Lambda Literary Award for Lesbian Debut Fiction is speaking with fellow novelists at Hares and Hyenas Bookshop's, Bespoken-Queer Writing Monthly.
When: Thursday 28th June, 7.30- 9.05pm

Vandana Shiva

World renowned scientist and activist Vandana Shiva author of Soil Not Oil: Climate Change, Peak Oil and Food Insecurity is visiting Melbourne for two exciting events. She is the keynote speaker at the International Federation of Home Economics, World Congress Global Wellbeing Conference and she will be discussing her forthcoming book Making Peace with the Earth: Beyond Resource, Land and Food Wars, due for release in September, at a special talk to be held in the lovely grounds of Montsalvat.
