It's April, so time for the next instalment of the SPIN...

NEW RELEASES
Last week we released our first digital-only edition - that is, an eBook without an equivalent print book. It's Finola Moorhead's classic Remember the Tarantella, described as ‘the most exciting debut since Oranges Are Not the Only Fruit’ when first published in 1994. This release marks the beginning of our special Digital Feminist Classics list, an initiative to make out-of-print or hard-to-find feminist titles available.

Remember the Tarantella can be downloaded in four formats from the Spinifex eBookstore.

In other eBook news, our 2009 bestseller Getting Real is also now available from our eBook site.

EVENTS
Jordie Albiston will read at the next Readings Carlton Poetry to Pages night on 6.30pm Tues 12 April. Full details can be found on the Readings website.

And watch out for Susan Hawthorne at the following Poetry to Pages night on Tues 11 May together with other contributors to Out Of The Box: Contemporary Australian Gay And Lesbian Poets. Further details will be available on the Readings events page closer to the date.

SPINIFEX BLOG
We've got a great guest blog post on the gender imbalance in literary awards and the pigeonholing of 'women's writing' by Jo Case, Kill Your Darlings associate editor.

The Spinifex blog can be found mousing over the 'Home' link at the top of our website. You can also sign up for the RSS feed by pasting the address (http://www.spinifexpress.com.au/rss/blogs2.php) into your favourite feed reader.
