Biography

Bronwyn Winter is a senior lecturer in the Department of French Studies at the University of Sydney. She is also a feminist and lesbian activist. Her work on feminist theory; women in international and national politics; human rights; women and the politics of race, nation and culture; Islamism; globalisation; and critiques of liberalism, has been widely published in Australian and international journals and anthologies. She considers her academic work and her feminist activism as feeding each other rather than being separate, and writing as a personal and political necessity. For many years she has been active in the National Tertiary Education Union.
