Biography
Lucy Sussex

Lucy Sussex was born in New Zealand. She has edited four anthologies, including She’s Fantastical (1995), shortlisted for the World Fantasy Award. Her award-winning fiction includes books for younger readers; and the novel, The Scarlet Rider (1996).  She has five short story collections, My Lady Tongue, A Tour Guide in Utopia, Absolute Uncertainty, Matilda Told Such Dreadful Lies (a best of), and Thief of Lives.  Currently she reviews weekly for the Age newspaper. She has also written Women Writers and Detectives in C19th Crime Fiction (Palgrave) and edited Victoriana: Mary Fortune and an anthology of Victorian travel writing, Saltwater in the Ink (ASP). 


Awards
Throughout her writing career, Lucy has won a number of awards for her works. These include a Bertram Chandler award for Outstanding Achievement in Australian Science Fiction and a number of Ditmar awards - annual awards for the best new releases in Australian Science Fiction as voted at each year's national convention.
